A real vector. Every area of colour is traced into SVG paths, so it scales without blur and you can recolour or remove any colour.

Does it keep a transparent background?

Yes, see-through areas of your PNG stay see-through. If your PNG has a solid background instead, press Remove background to drop that colour.
