Questions

Do I need to print a template?

No. Write the letters shown on screen onto any paper, with a small gap between them and in the same order, then take a photo.

How do I get the best result from a photo?

Use a dark pen on plain paper, leave a gap between letters, and take the photo straight on in good light. One photo per group (capitals, small letters, numbers, symbols) keeps it quick.

What if a letter comes out wrong?

You see every letter it found and can swap two that are in the wrong place. Any letter can also be redrawn by hand before you make the font.

Is it free? Is there a limit?

Yes, it is free: make and download as many fonts as you like, no sign-up and no watermark. Inkly is a free tool by Doetra.

Is my handwriting uploaded?

No. Your photo and your letters are turned into a font in your browser, on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.
